What Is Link-Bait?

Submitted by Andrew on Monday, 29 December 2008No Comment

Link-bait is content that is delivered to the end-user in an unobtrusive manner, whether it be in the form of a post, comment, or signature in a public environment or via email.  The motive in the link-bait is to create a common goal by providing the user with very useful information.  The ultimate goal to get the user involved in the results of a service or product and then make a call to action.    We see link bait in many forms from newsletters that we sign up for to articles that we read and even games that we play.  These tools and content are produced with the goal of creating traffic and keep them coming back.   If you are interested in using link-baiting techniques, but aren’t so sure that you can produce content that will convert just shoot me over an email and I can help you with all your link-bait needs.

I personally feel that newsletters are among the most effective forms of link-baiting that will, not only bring in new traffic, but will also keep your traffic within reach.  After all, we all know that old customers make the best new customers.
